Rhobar the Rotting

Rhobar atop Widow's Watch

Rhobar the Rotting was the high priest of a small cult of Nerull which had overtaken the castle of Widow's Watch near the town of Watermeet.

History and Personality[]

Rhobar's past is unknown to the party, though he had tense relations with Mallarus and was a constant source of embarrassment for Lord Fenry of Watermeet. The cult had apparently had residence in the castle for about thirty years, using a resurrected minotaur as a warden to keep out intruders. During the control of the cult, monsters crept into the lower levels, while Rhobar's sanity grew more and more corrupted.

As well as his maniacal tendencies, Rhobar suffered from some form of degenerative skin disease, giving him a hideous appearance.

In the Campaign[]

Spine, Vardis Vaden, Azuk and Keldin stormed the castle of Widow's Watch, defeating the cultists within (save Edrick, who fled the keep). On the battlements above, Rhobar was accompanied by two foul ghasts. Nonetheless, through a long and bloody battle, Rhobar was defeated. He did temporarily blind Vardis Vaden before his death.
